Arthur 'Jody' McKoon


Arthur Joseph "Jody" McKoon, 42, University City, Mo., formerly of East Moline, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1993, at home after a lengthy illness.

Memorial services are 7 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Trinity Medical Center, East Campus, Pavilion One, Moline. The body has been cremated.

Memorials may be made to an educational fund for his son.

Mayer Funeral Home, St. Louis, was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McKoon was born July 20, 1950, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Arthur Leo and Mary Louise Reimbold McKoon. He married Jolene Beatrice Small June 13, 1970, in East Moline.

He was a graduate of Riverdale High School, Port Byron. He earned a bachelor's degree in speech and drama and a master's degree in special education at Northeast Missouri State University, Kirksville, Mo.

He retired in 1992, due to ill health, as manager of "The Collector's Bookshop," University City; was owner of Stonewall Fibers, a fiber arts business; former owner of "The Nutshell," Iowa City, Iowa; and taught English and special education for 10 years at United Township High, East Moline.

He was a member of the Weaver's Guild, St. Louis, and was an accomplished weaver and fiber artist.

Survivors include a son and his parents, Port Byron.
