One of Joan's favorite stories was telling her children and grandchildren about how she met their dad, granddad, the love of her life, Cliff. One day in the school hallway, Joan noticed a handsome boy in a grey sweater. He made such an impact, that she went right home and told her parents about the boy that stole her heart! Cliff noticed Joan as well and soon asked her out, beginning their love story. They married shortly after graduation in 1950 and were happily married the rest of their lives.
Joan will be greatly missed by her children, Greg (Cathy) Smock, Melanie (Jeff) Barrick, and Ladyne (Brian) Frazee. She will also be fondly remembered by her five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, who have many happy memories of their "Nana".
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Cliff, her brother Don, and her grandson Logan.
Joan's family would like to thank Betty Sue Scifert for all of her love and care. They also want to thank the staff of Willow Brook Christian Village and Promedica Hospice in Delaware, Ohio for their extra-special care and support.
