Mrs. Dorothy Ann Calloway, 90, passed away February 26, 2023, at her home. She was born October 22, 1932, in Boissevain, VA to the late Charles Edward Harrison and Retha Holline Shupe Harrison. She was a longtime and faithful member of Freedom Baptist Church.

Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed being with her family and talking about Jesus. Dorothy had a passion for teaching and retired from the Surry County School System after many years of service.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Wesley Calloway; and four siblings, Roger Harrison, Susan Harrison, Carolyn Horton, and Bobby Harrison.

She is survived by her daughter, Retha Tyree (Louis); two grandchildren, Jessie Tyree and Felicia Tyree; two great-grandchildren, Luke Tucker and Klay Harris; one sister, Bonnie Lilly; and a very special and loving brother-in-law, Ronnie Horton.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Freedom Baptist Church with Pastor Jon White, Rev. Craig Edwards, Rev. John Byerly, and Bro. David Johnson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Freedom Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church.
