Shirley Ann Welman, 78, of Corydon, died Monday, February 27, 2023, at Harrison Springs Health Campus in Corydon. She was born November 10, 1944, in Corydon, to the late John Robert and Flora Charlotte Miller Hoback.
She was a member and volunteer at the Corydon Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Shirley loved children, and displayed this through her work in child care at Blue River Services.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dallas Hoback; and her sisters, Esther Coffman, Becky Jean Shumaker, Betty Crawford, and Dollie Mae Hoback.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Edgar Welman; her son, Darren Dwaine Welman (Sandy) of Corydon; her daughters, Dawn Denise Welman Johnson (Jeff) of Alpharetta, Georgia and Dana Daneen Conway (W. Derick) of Charlestown, Indiana; her brothers, Bobby Hoback (Dianne) and Johnny Hoback (Shannon); her sisters, Barbara Smith (Jim) and Carolyn Hofmann (Lawrence); her grandchildren, Emily Taylor Johnson, Mackenzie Lauren Beckenhauer (Thomas), Summer Sandlin, Carley Conway, J Conway, Will Conway, and Lyla Conway; and her great grandson, Lyndon Bosley.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2023 Shepherd Lawrence Hofmann will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. Saturday and after 12:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
