She was born November 22, 1904 in Streator, a daughter of Edward and Margaret (Fenton) Blanchfield. She married William Franklin Brown on August 27, 1941. He survives.
Also surviving are sisters: Bernice L. Blanchfield of Pontiac and Marguerite L. Zalaha of Streator; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Daniel, Thomas, William Edward and Frank B. Blanchfield; and sisters: Jane Magdalene Meyer, Eileen C. "Nellie" Meier and Anna Catherine Roof.
A lifetime Streator resident, she worked in Main Street stores for 20 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
