Mrs. Wessel was born Sept. 19, 1896 near Loraine, a daughter of Clinton and Mary Holden Seward. She married Edward Wessel Nov. 28, 1931. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wessel attended Victory School in Lima Township and was a member of the Loraine Christian Church. She was an elementary school teacher in Adams County for many years. She lived near Loraine most of her life, then moved to Ursa and had lived with a sister in Joliet for the last three years.
Surviving is the sister, Mrs. Lula Shepherd of Joliet. She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters and two brothers.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Curry Funeral Home in Mendon by the Rev. Russell Corrigan. Burial will be in the New Loraine Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Loraine Christian Church. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until time of services.
