23 Feb 2008: Arlene Deitrich, 80, of Bellefonte, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at the Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte. Born on July 6, 1927, in Philipsburg, she is the daughter of the late Clifford and Caroline Parkes Drury. On Jan. 26, 1952, in Philipsburg, she married John W. Deitrich, who preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 2001. She was a 1946 graduate of Philipsburg Area High School. Arlene was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Hublersburg. She and her husband spent over fifty years working at Hecla Park Skating Rink in Mingoville. She was also a homemaker. Arlene is survived by one daughter, Linda L. Russell, and her husband, Joe, of Bellefonte; one son, Frank A. Deitrich, and his wife, Tracy, and their children, Frank A. Deitrich Jr., and John H. Deitrich, all of Bellefonte; also by one brother Robert M. Drury of Williamsville, N.Y. Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a twin sister, Beverly J. Gearhart and two brothers, Harold E. Drury and Stanley W. Drury. There will be a public visitation held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, at the Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., Bellefonte. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at the funeral home with the Rev. Paula Curtis-Burn officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Union Cemetery in Walker Township.
