Service for Rose M. Hill, longtime Long Beach resident and civic pioneer, were held at Patterson and Snively Mortuary Tuesday. Interment followed at Sunnyside Cemetery. She died Sept. 16, 1972. She was born Jan. 11, 1880 on a farm near Jacobs Creek, Pa. She came to Long Beach in 1906 with her husband, Dr. Walter Hill. She was a prominent person in the Ebell Club. She and her husband were charter members of First United Methodist Church, Long Beach. Dr. Hill died in 1949. He was known as the baby doctor of Long Beach, delivering 10,000 children during his practice. Mrs. Hill is survived by her daughter, Muriel Pratt of Brownsville; three grandchildren; and a nephew, Robert Hill Metzgar of Long Beach.
