Parley Edwin McCorkle, 75, of Waxhaw died today in Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
Funeral service will be tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. in Bonds Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Benjamin Matzko officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. McCorkle was born on Dec. 7, 1910 in Union County, a son of the late Press and Robena McManus McCorkle. He was retired from the maintenance department of the City of Charlotte.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Presson McCorkle; two brothers, Luke McCorkle and Frank McCorkle of Waxhaw; one sister, Mrs. Lucille Julian of Charlotte.
Visitation is today from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Home in Monroe.
