Heaven gained another angel when Jean Katchinoski, our dear Mother and Me Ma, joined her husband, Victor (66 years of marriage). She was blessed to leave a legacy of five children, seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Mother is survived by her five children: Dianne and Robert Hague of Fulshear, TX; Ron and Pat Katchinoski of Canyon Lake, TX; Robert and Neva Katchinoski of Austin, TX; Janet and Joe Moan of Kennebunkport, ME; Kathy and Drew Rohde of Georgetown, TX. Grandchildren: Angie Fuqua (Brad), Vicki Smith (Ike), Bobbie Crosslin (Todd), Rebecca Taylor (Mike), Michael Rohde (Katelyn), Matthew Rohde, Daniel Rohde. Great Grandchildren: Stephen, Kate, Tyler, Harrison, Emma, Ivana, Julia, Stella, Madeleine and Maya.

Jean of Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada and Victor, also of Canada, immigrated to the United States in 1950 and settled in Houston, TX where they raised their children. She was a devoted housewife and loving Mother. Upon Victor's retirement in 1984, they moved to the Austin Hill Country where she spent the last 39 years.

Jean lived a long, full life and showered our family with much love, patience, youthfulness and joy. Her faith in God guided her throughout her life. She loved to cook and bake, especially delicious Polish meals such as Galumpkis, Pierogies and Borscht. Me Ma's candy jar was always full!

Jean was also a talented seamstress and liked to knit and crochet as well. She enjoyed playing Canasta, Bingo and Slot Machines.

Her passing reminds us that the days are long but the years are short. Although we are sad to have lost her, we are grateful that she is no longer suffering and is with God and her loved ones who passed before her.

We want to express our gratitude to the Brookdale Lakeway staff and St. David's Hospice for their continuing care and service.

A celebration Mass will be held on Thursday, February 23 at 1:30 pm at St. Helens Catholic Church, 2700 E. University Ave, Georgetown, TX 78626. The graveside service will follow at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Georgetown, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St. David's Hospice & Family Care, 3636 Executive Center Drive, Building 8, Suite 210, Austin, TX, 7873
