Eldon Leon "Butch" Battey SHREVEPORT, LA - Eldon Leon "Butch" Battey died at his home oh Thursday, August 11, 1994, of heart failure. Funeral services will be held at Boone Funeral Home, 2156 Airline Dr., Bossier City, La. on Saturday, August 13, 1994 at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. George Rushe of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where Mr. Battey was a member. Mr. Battey was born near Elk City, Ok. on May 15, 1943. He graduated from Oklahoma University with a degree in Public Relations, and worked for many years with The Shreveport Journal where he held various positions including city editor. He went on to become manager of Mr. John's Inc. where he was employed at the time of his death. He is survived by two sons, *.; one brother, *; two half-brothers, Harold Battey of Kailua Kona, Hi., and Ralph Battey, Jr. of Garden City, Ks.; one aunt, Marie Gifford Wright of Shreveport, La.; his long time business partner and companion * of Shreveport, La. and his sons*. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Boone Funeral Home.
