Mr. Julius Nathaniel Alston, Jr., the son of the late Julius N. Alston, Sr., and Elizabeth Hanna Alston, was born July 12, 1945, in Florence, SC, and was reared in Darlington, SC. He peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Monday, February 20, 2023.

He was educated in the Darlington County School System and was a proud graduate of Mayo High School Class of 1963. Julius received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Francis Marion (formally College) University in 1976.

Julius accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a member and leader at Greater Bethel A.M.E Church Darlington, SC, where he held numerous leadership positions. His employment included over forty years of service in finance with numerous financial institutions.

Military service included United States Marine Corps and honorable discharged on May 14, 1969, and retired as First Sergeant from South Carolina Army National Guard, Company C, 163rd Medical Support Battalion with thirty-two years of service.

A kind and generous soul, Julius was always helpful to others, readily able and willing to serve. He was an active member of the Florence Chapter of Omega Psi Phi, Pee Dee United Elks Lodge #1679, King-Wingate American Legion Post #210, and NCO Club of Darlington, SC.

Julius' motto was "The Family Is the Foundation of Life". He was a devoted husband, loving father, and all-around great family man.

Loved ones awaiting his arrival in heaven include his parents, Julius N. Alston, Sr. and Elizabeth Hanna Alston, his late wife, Julia Ann Coe Alston, and his siblings: David Alston, Sr., Joan Alston, Earl Brockington, and Ralph Alston.
