"Ida May Johnson, 88, of 4504 Maxwell Road, died Thursday night at a nursing home in Savannah, Mo.
Mrs. Johnson was a lifelong resident of St Joseph and was a member of the Independent Baptist Church of St Joseph. Her husband, George B. Johnson, died in 1967. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lenia Way, of St Joseph, in 1977.
Surviving are three daughters, Hannah Humphrey of Littleton, Colo., Rosa Lee Roup of Rosendale, Mo., and Elva Rockhold of St Joseph; one son, George B. Johnson, Jr., of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery." St Joseph News-Press, August 25, 1979
