Melba Louise Bagwell passed away on February 21, 2023. She was born July 10, 1930, to the late Lyman and Lois Griswell Hogue. Melba was a charter and devoted member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for 65 years, along with her late husband, Wendy Bagwell. She held a 45-year record for perfect Sunday school attendance all at Pleasant Grove. In life, Melba was a fierce mother, matriarch, and companion to her family and husband. A protector and selfless giver, she was incredibly refined and wise. For over 70 years she kept the books for the family business, Bagwell Furniture.
Melba is survived by two daughters; a daughter-in-law; a sister; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; multiple great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Melba is preceded in death by her loving husband, Wendy Bagwell; a son, Ronald Buckner; a son-in-law, Pete McDuffie; five sisters, Ann Richardson, Betty Champion, Gail Seabrook, Shirley Hogue, Katherine Sheffield; four brothers, Gene Hogue, Lee Hogue, Eddie Hogue, Carlton Hogue.
