Gary was drafted into the US Army.
Arriving in Vietnam 12 December 1966, Gary was assigned to B Company, 3rd Battalion, 39th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division, USARV.
Gary died as a result of gunshot wounds to the body from hostile rifle fire, when B Company engaged hostile forces 5 miles west of Rach Kien. B Company lost 12
soldiers during the engagement.
Survived by his mother, Hilda Moura of Castro Valley, CA.

His father; Edward Plumb was deceased. They share they share the headstone - Edward on the front, Gary on the back.
