Audna was the daughter of Edgar Elmer and Nannie McMahen Wingfield. She graduated from Bienville High School in 1931 and worked as a secretary for Armour & Co. for many years before going to Grawood Christian School as secretary. She was an active member of the Community Bible church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Autre L. Nelson, Sr. and her grandaughter, Dawn Rainer. She is survived by one son, three grandaughters, nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren
