He was the son of Thomas Almareen & Gilly "Manning" Williams. Benjamin was married 3 times. On June 25, 1852, he married (1) Nancy Jennings. They had 5 children. After her death, he married (2) Martha Jane Ham on December 15, 1861. They had 4 children. Then after her death, he married (3) Martha "Rush" Bingham, widow of Green Berry Bingham, on November 24, 1870. They had 5 children. Benjamin Cody had Sibling's named; Ira Malcolm, William Thompson, Dixon D., Gilly, Julia A., Margaret, Martha , Bethsaida, Obedience, Nancy, and Orro Williams Hamilton. They all had large families of children, most of them lived in Choctaw, Webster, and Oktibbeha Counties of Mississippi. Dixon D. Williams settled in Izard County, Arkansas. William Thompson Williams settled in Copiah County, Miss., Ira Malcolm Williams lived in Oktibbeha & Webster Co., Miss., and was buried at Sapa Baptist Church Cemetery, at Sapa, Miss.
