Georgia A Seabolt: Dawes Census Card #29544, female, age 21, 1/16 Cherokee, 1896 enrollment in Delaware District, #2350; father listed as R L Prather, dead, Delaware District; mother listed as Bettie Kinzy, non-citizen

According to Georgia's Cherokee enrollment application (Cher #10321), her husband, Luna Seabolt, testified on 14 Aug 1900 that his wife, Georgia A Seabolt, would be 21 years old in October (1900) and that her name was Georgia Prather when they married in 1897. Luna stated that Georgia's mother was Bettie Prather, a white woman, and that she had been dead for two years (1898). He stated that Georgia's father was Richard L Prather, a Cherokee citizen, and that he died in 1895 or 1896. Also recorded in the file is that Richard L Prather's mother, Caroline Prather, was admitted to Cherokee citizenship in 1871. Georgia's paternal grandparents, Robert A & Caroline Prather, and her Ford maternal grandfather, were alive in 1900.
On 10 Mar 1903 her brother, Jess (Jesse Q) Prather, of Grove, OK, age 21, also gave sworn testimony that is included in her application. Jess states that Georgia was his full sister (Georgia being about 2 years older), that their mother's name was Ford, and that they were both born in Arkansas. He testified that their mother died in August 1898, "she died this side of Sallisaw, close to where my sister lives now." Jess stated when questioned that his mother married again after separating from his father, and that her name was Kinzie when she died. He states that their father died 10 Jan 1895, and that he & his sister were living with their father. After their father's death, Jess stated that Georgia lived with their mother in the Cherokee Nation until her marriage in 1897 to Luna Seabolt, a half-breed.

According to Georgia's brother's application, Cherokee application (Cher #10322), Jesse Quantrell Prather, age 19, was filed by his paternal uncle Lee B Prather on 14 Dec 1900. His maternal uncle, Alfonso Ford, gave testimony that Richard L Prather, under the alias Wesley R Lewis, married Alfonso's sister, Elizabeth "Bettie" or "Beck" Ford and that they had 3 children, Georgia, Jesse & Effie, all born in Arkansas. Included in the file are a marriage record of Wesley R Leonwis & Sarah Elizabeth Ford in Franklin County, Arkansas on 16 Jun 1878 and a divorce decree for Sarah E Lewis from Wesley R Lewis dated 7 Jun 1888, Franklin Co. , AR. Richard Lewis Prather's father, Robert A Prather, also gave testimony, as did his mother, Caroline Prather, which are included in this file.

Georgia A Prather Seabolt; her son, Sam H Seabolt; along with Sam Houston Prather & Maggie Prather (Georgia's half-siblings, children of her father & his last wife, Lenora Jackson Prather); her brother, Jesse Q Prather; her sister, Effie Prather Denton; & Effie's daughter, Margie Denton, were all granted Cherokee citizenship, in a consolidated case, on 18 Sep 1903.
