Jerry Lloyd Cozzen, 83, passed away February 8, 2023, in Kalispell, Montana, surrounded by his wife and family. Jerry was born in Hamlin, Texas, on March 19, 1939, to Ida Pearl (Haught) and Lloyd Ernest "Skinny" Cozzen.

He grew up in Tularosa, NM, where he joined the Army National Guard and graduated high school in 1958.

Jerry married Marjorie A. Wade on July 1, 1960, in Claunch, New Mexico.

He worked for the NM State Highway Department. In 1972 Jerry started troop 21 for the NM Mounted Patrol in Tucumcari, NM, where he served for 7 years. Jerry was employed with the Tucumcari Police Department for two years. In 1978 he moved his family of six to Anchorage, AK. There he joined the Anchorage Police Department and retired in 1989. He worked with AGA as security on the Alaska Pipeline until his retirement in 2002. Jerry took pride in his law enforcement career.

In 2009 he and Marjorie purchased a home in Claunch, NM, where they have enjoyed 14 years with many beloved friends and family members.

Jerry enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping and hunting with his family and friends. He also enjoyed riding his horses and helping his neighbors with ranching. Jerry was known for his integrity, unique humor, poetry and excellent marksmanship.

He was a devoted Christian and member of the Eagle River Church of God in Alaska and the Claunch Community Church in New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ida Pearl (Haught) and Lloyd Ernest "Skinny" Cozzen; son, Troy Dean Cozzen; two granddaughters, Sabrina E. Morales and Christina Clark; and one great-grandson, Michael A. Bovkoon; and his brother, Frank L Cozzen.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marjorie A. (Wade); daughters, Jeri Ann Tauriainen (David), Teri L. Hance (Michael), and Wendy E. Morales (Jose); daughter-in-law, Carol Cozzen; sister, Sharon Winchell; grandchildren: Eric, Justin, Keri, Megan, Michaela, Nicole, Chyanne, Tiana, Madison, Dillan, Kyler, Jerry, and Salina; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.

Pallbearers were his grandsons: Eric Tauriainen, Justin Tauriainen, Dillan Morales, Kyler Morales, Jerry Morales, Dane Phillips, Bret Bovkoon, Luke Scrase and Colton Schmidt.
