[Son of Sargeant John Nott and Patience Miller (dau of William) and grandson of John Nott (Knott), who arrived in Wethersfield about 1636. He was a hayward in 1706 and a collector in 1716.

He married 1st Elizabeth, dau of John and Rebina Hale/Hall on Feb 2, 1709-10. They had the following children:

1-Thomas b Dec 13, 1711
2-Jemima b May 12, 1714 who had dau Experience Dec 4, 1734, by Nath'l Griswold ("as she saith")
3-Elishaba b Nov 3, 1716 d Sept 17, 1718 in 2d yr of her age
4-Abraham b July 31, 1719, mar July 15, 1742, Mercy Dimock
5-Elizabeth b May 23, 1722
6-William b Apr 27, 1724 d mar Apr 6, 1748 Lydia Deming

He married 2nd, wid Abigail, parentage unknown (who mar 3rd Jonathan Blyn/Blinn)
William and Abigail had one daughter Olive b Oct 11, 1735

He left to his wife, Abigail, what she brought with her and 1/3 of all his moveable estate. He mentions his three sons by name but refers his sons to pay "each of their three sisters", referring to Jemima, Elizabeth and Olive.

Upon application to the court on Aug 13, 1740, Elisha Boardman was appointed guardian of Olive (age 6) and William Nott age 17 chose Thomas Curtis as his guardian. Mention is also made that Jonathan Blinn applied to the court for the dower of his wife, which was purportedly not given to his wife.

Info per the Families of Ancient Wethersfield and Wethersfield inscriptions. The genealogy points out that Wethersfield inscriptions indicate he died on the 14th rather than 24th of November.
