"POESTENKILL -- Ann L. Smith Baldrey, 55, of Cherokee Drive, died Wednesday in her residence after a long illness. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late John J. Smith Jr. and Gertrude Donsbach Smith and wife of Douglas G. Baldrey. She had resided in the Troy area many years and in Poestenkill for the past 27 years and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and an honors graduate with a degree in Human Services from Hudson Valley Community College. Mrs. Baldrey was employed as a certified nurses aid. She also was a volunteer at the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center. She was a member of the Hudson Valley Faculty Wives, Phi Beta Kappa honor Society and the First Presbyterian Church of Brunswick. Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Beth Ann Ernest of Sand Lake and Jennifer Elizabeth Baldrey of West Sand Lake; a son Douglas George Baldrey II of Poestenkill ; a brother John J. Smith of North Hoosick; a sister Jane Walsh of Troy and 3 grandchildren, Jonathan, Kristen and Kyle Ernest all of Sand Lake. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Ave., Troy, with Rev. Catherine Kotfila, Associate Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Brunswick, officiating. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
