Billy Howard Goolsby, age 71 of the Bloomington Springs Community died Thursday, February 16th at Tristar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. He was born April 25, 1951 in Baxter, Tennessee to the late Lendon and Mary Belle Goolsby. He was a graduate of the Class of 1969 at Upperman High School.

Following in the footsteps and example of his father, Billy worked in construction as a craftsman and woodworker. He enjoyed renovation projects and was generous with his time and talents volunteering and helping others. He was a strong man of faith, talented singer who lead singing in various churches, including his home church of Cedar Hill Baptist Church.

He adored his family and time spent with them. He was patient, loving, affectionate and had a wonderful sense of humor and appreciation of dad jokes. He looked forward to officiating his granddaughter Catelyn's wedding in June of this year.

Billy leaves behind his wife: Shearyl Reed Goolsby; daughters: Wendy (Harold "Sugar Bear"Smith) Goolsby, Monica Goolsby, and Tiffany (Christopher Phillips) Goolsby; grandchildren: Catelyn Stephens and fiance' Zach Butler, Cole Stephens, Nathan Goolsby, Grayson Smith and Brady Smith; sister: Thresa (Ronnie) Wilson of Baxter and brother: Don (Cheryl) Goolsby of Smyrna.

A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, February 27th at the Alex Byers Cemetery.
