Ira T. Valentine, born in Bedford, TX, was the son of Richard T. Valentine and Mary (Armstrong) Valentine.

I. T. Valentine was elected city attorney of Ft. Worth, TX in April 1904. He and his first wife, Pearl (Bailey) Valentine were the parents of three daughters: Edna D, Eula Olene Valentine and Mary Inez Valentine Cowart.
