The son of Raymond and Inza (Schussele) Asay, he was born in Cochrane, Wisconsin, on Sept. 23, 1934. He married Jane Gillapp in Rock Island on Oct. 20, 1961.
He was a self-employed mechanic and owner/operator of EZ Transmission, Davenport. He restored vintage Chevrolet automobiles, specializing in 1957 models.
The widow, two daughters, a son, seven grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers survived him.
