"Anita Adams-Handy, long time resident of Cool, died at home early Monday, April 16, 2007. Born in Athens, Greece, she was the first of six children born to Anna and Gerald Adams. She married John Handy in 1980.
Anita graduated from Highlands High in 1976 and from U.C. Davis in 1980, with a B.S. in biology.
Trained in the field of Laboratory Science, Anita worked for Mercy Hospital prior to the birth of her children Nick, [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], and [redacted]. One of her greatest joys had been the shaping of her children's hearts and lives through home schooling. Her daughter [redacted] says that her mom was always there for her and loved each of her children unconditionally.
Anita was a faithful follower of Christ and a warm and loving friend. Even as her heath declined, she never missed an opportunity to encourage a friend with a phone call or note. And her restless nights, absent of sleep, were continually filled by praying faithfully for those she loved.
In addition to her husband; and children; Anita is survived by her mother Anna; siblings [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], and [redacted]; and seven nieces and nephews. She has been preceded in death by her father Gerald; first born son Nick; and nephew Andrew.
There will be a celebration of Anita's life on April 21, at 1:00 pm, at Cool Community Church, 865 Cave Valley Road. For further information, please call the church office 885-4385."
