Ms. Benoit was a native and lifelong resident of Vatican. She had been a parishioner of St. John Berchman Catholic Church in Cankton. Ms. Benoit retired from Montgomery Ward and was also employed with Abdallas.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Raoul (Lauris) Guilbeau of Carencro; one nephew, Harold Guilbeau and his wife, Donna, of Lafayette; and two nieces, Belle Benoit of Lafayette and Shelby Hamilton of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Iby Benoit; an infant daughter; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Amedee Prejean, mother the former Elosia Comeaux, both natives of Vatican; two sisters, Mrs. Wilson (Celeste) Guilbeau and Mrs. Placide (Buna) Domingue; and a nephew, Jerry Guilbeau.
