RALPH A. MARTIN, JR.

Ralph Anthony Martin, Jr., 69, died Monday, Jan. 1, 1996 at home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Buchheim Family Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Chapel in Paso Robles. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Methodist Church. Burial will take place at Paso Robles District Cemetery.

Mr. Martin Jr. was born July 15, 1926, in Sacramento. Mr. Martin lived in Sacramento 40 years, where his grandfather had settled after coming from Azores Island. A corporate manager with Tandy Corp. for many years, he established the first Radio Shack in Sacramento. He also helped senior citizens with tax returns and served as campaign chairman for United Crusade from 1970-75.

Locally, he put in a pistachio orchard at Bresser Ranch, off Linne Road and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Paso Robles.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Wanna Martin of Paso Robles; daughters Linda Hopkins of Windsor, Calif., Dianne Martin Vaughn of Half Moon Bay, Janet Martin Franklin of Olympia, Wash, and Cynthia Dummit of Atascadero; son Ralph Martin III of Paso Robles; grandchildren, Brian Conley of Colorado, Hillary and Jamie hopkins, both of Petaluma, Kai Conragen and Parker Vaughn, both of Half Moon Bay, Hannah and Leah Franklin of Olympia, Wash., and Brooke, Cassie and Stephen Dummit all of Atascadero; great grandchild Haley Hopkins of Petaluma; sisters Daisey Boleck of Washington, Arlene Tonan of Las Vegas, Nev. and Susan Gott of Washington; and brothers, John Martin of San Clemente and Arthur Martin of Los Angeles.
