Former LaGrange, Ga., resident Bessie Flournoy, 82, of Five Points, died Friday at West Georgia Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home, with burial in Shadowlawn Cemetery, LaGrange.

Mrs. Flournoy was born Nov. 26, 1912, in Meriwether County, daughter of Perry and Ada Lee Whitley Flournoy. A resident of LaGrange for most of her life, she retired from Swift Manufacturing Co., Columbus. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, LaGrange.

Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Estes of Five Points; a son, Phillip M. Flournoy of Amherst, Ohio; three sisters, Bertha Foster of Columbus, Eunice Simons and Hattie Stewart, both of LaGrange; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
