Lubbock - Anna Lynn Reed, age 89, passed away at her home on January 31, 2023 in Lubbock. A Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Idalou Church of Christ. Interment will be held prior to the service at 11:00 a.m., at the Crosbyton Cemetery. Arrangements were held under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Idalou.
Anna was born July 15, 1933, in Crosbyton, Tx, to Alton Lloyd Alston and Annabel Parks Alston. Anna graduated from Crosbyton High School in 1950 and in 1951 married Kenneth Earl Reed. Anna and Kenneth lived in Spade and then Lubbock until 1963 when they moved to Idalou and raised their 3 children, Leon, Vicki & Sheila. Anna, worked in many clerical jobs including Lubbock Retail Merchants, Idalou State Bank, and Citizens National Bank in Brownwood. In 1990 Anna and Kenneth moved to Lake Brownwood and lived there until they returned to Idalou in 2008. In 2020 Anna moved to Lubbock to be better cared for by her daughter, Sheila and grandson & granddaughter-in-law, Scott & Jennifer Frost, and great granddaughter, Loyce.
Anna is preceded in death by Kenneth, her husband of almost 60 years, her father, mother, step-father, Cecil Johnson, 2 brothers; A.C. Alston and Pete Alston, and great grandson, Brody Tenborg.
Anna is survived by her daughter; Sheila Harris and husband, Kyle of Lubbock, daughter Vicki Hitt of Spotsylvania, Virginia, and son; Leon Reed and wife Tresa of Lake Ivie, Tx, 6 grandchildren; ,14 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
