Clifford started working at Southwestern Public Service in Denver City, Texas in April of 1957. He then transferred to Tolk Station in 1982, where he worked until his retirement in April 1998. Clifford was a member of First Baptist Church in Earth. He is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta; a daughter, Deniece Clifton; his parents; one sister, Hilda B. Husted; and one brother, Staff Sergeant Bradie Bronell Bills.
Clifford is survived by his two daughters, Jen Daniel and her husband, David of Vancouver, Washington and Lesia Whisenhunt and her husband, Ronnie of Denver City, Texas; his son-in-law, Randy Clifton of Gatesville, Texas; two brothers, Carlis Bills of Lubbock, Texas and Doyal Bills of Spring, Texas; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
