Dr. John P. Scappaticci Jr, 62, of Blackwood, NJ, passed away suddenly on August 20, 2022. Devoted husband of over 18 years to Sunday Scappaticci (nee Angelastro). Dear stepfather to Noelle Patel (Ajay) and Michael Panichella. Loving Grandpop-Pop to Adino Patel. Beloved brother in law to Joe Angelastro. Brother to Angela Welch (Tom), Antonio Scappaticci and the late Nicholas Scappaticci. Son of the late John P. Scappaticci Sr. and the late Anges Scappaticci. Dog-father to little Molly. He will be missed by many other loving family members, friends, coworkers, and patients.

John was the valedictorian and a football player at his high school in his hometown of Jay, Maine. He later received a Doctorate of Osteopathy and worked as a dedicated family physician for many years, most recently with Virtua Family Medicine in Lumberton, NJ. When he wasn't working, John and his wife Sunday would often go out on their boat in Mystic Island, NJ. John was always working on projects around the house and was a huge Philadelphia Eagles Fan. He will be remembered most of all for his love and selflessness.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, August 24th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Maple Shade, from 10:00am-11:00am with his funeral mass to follow at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
