Janeyl Alsup Beck

Janeyl Beck was born January 9, 1917, to Alice Alfreda (Graves) Alsup (deceased 1965) and Joseph Dick Alsup (deceased 1967). Mrs. Beck died October 26, 2015, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Mrs. Beck lived in Sylvester, Texas, for 78 years and was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, James B. Beck of Sylvester, Texas.

Mrs. Beck was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church including the churches at Roby and Sylvester. She particularly enjoyed teaching and attending Sunday School, singing in the choir, and garden club activities. Her Walk to Emmaus was a blessing to her.

Mrs. Beck was a graduate of Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas and of Abilene Christian University in Abilene. She taught in the public schools in Fisher County Texas for 34 years, including the schools of Sylvester, McCaulley and Roby.

She is survived by a son James E. Beck of Austin, Texas and three daughters Sarah Beck Sims of Dallas, Texas, Mary Constance Beck and husband Frank W. Tilley of Fort Worth, Texas, and Cynthia Jane Baker and husband Bobby J. Baker of Kingwood, Texas.

Mrs. Beck is survived by grandchildren John Taylor Sims III (Mylinh)of Clear Lake City, Texas, Michael James Sims (Amber) of Dallas, Texas, Christopher Andrew Sims (Lee Ann) of Austin, Texas, Marcie Dianne Beck of Austin, Texas, Amy Catherine Baker Shipp (Anthony) of Kingwood, Texas, and James Carl Baker (Sarah) of Flower Mound, Texas.

Mrs. Beck is also survived by seven great-grandchildren Dr. Michelle Ailan Nguyen (Dr. Brian Fricke) of San Antonio, Texas, Amanda Dathao Nguyen of Dallas, Alexandra Janeyl Sims of College Station, Texas, Sarah Constance Sims of Norman, Oklahoma, Tristan Alexander Shipp of Kingwood, Texas, Beck Christopher Crickmer of Austin, Texas, and Brennen Andrew Shipp of Kingwood, Texas.

A celebration of Mrs. Janeyl Beck's life will be held at 11:00AM October 31, 2015, in the Roby United Methodist Church.
