Alene Frances Tatum Saul, 99, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. A native of Alamance County, she was born October 2, 1923 to the late Albert Berry and Annie Eudora McKinney Tatum was the wife of 69 years to Levi David Saul, Sr. who died in 2017.

Alene worked for Monarch Hosiery and later Kayser Roth before retiring. She was a longtime member of Altamahaw Baptist Church and member of the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class. She loved the Lord and always had a sweet spirit. Alene was a caregiver for her family and she loved to clean. She loved her family and her many friends and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include her son, Levi David "LD" Saul, Jr. and wife, Sherry; daughters, Wanda Saul Wheeley, Carol June Phillips and her friend, Ervin; grandchildren, Sherri Brown (Ted), Margaret Hightower, David Lee Saul, Jane Turner Hogsed (Kevin), Michael Wheeley, Jr., Jodie Spencer (Glenn), Rev. John Alexander Coble (Tonya), Rev. Thomas Joel Coble (Beverly), Penny Medley (Sam); great grandchildren, Brandon (Alex) and Kali Schoolfield, Chad Brown, Sandy and Luke Gerner, Blair and her fiancé, Josh Voris, Nolan, Mason, Royce and Allie Hogsed, Lilliana Spencer, Victoria, Jacob, Elliana and Aaron Coble and Bob and Sydney Medley and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; brothers, Leonard, and Floyd Tatum and sisters, Maedeene and Maurien Wilson; son-in-law, Michael Wheeley and daughter-in-law, Linda Saul.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at Altamahaw Baptist Church by Rev. Walter Jones, assisted by Rev. John Coble and Rev. Thomas Coble with the burial to follow at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery.
