Shari was born in La Porte, IN, on June 11, 1947, to the late Donald and Cleota (VanKosky) Wildt.
Shari was formerly a resident of La Porte, IN, and Bullhead City, AZ, and moved to Tomahawk in 2020. She graduated from the La Porte High School in 1965 and held employment in offices as office manager, bookkeeper, and payroll most of her 34 working years. She left work in 1999 due to rheumatoid and osteo arthritis issues.
Shari married George E. Smith, in La Porte, IN, on May 14, 1983. They moved to a mini farm in Rolling Prairie, IN, and in 1986, completed a log home on the same property. Then, from 1995 to 2007, they had lake property, a condo, and finally a house in South Bend, IN, before moving to Arizona. Shari loved to spend time playing cards and bingo with friends, she enjoyed working on circle-a-word books, and watching television. In her younger years, she was an avid archery shooter where she won state championships in both Indiana and Michigan, and was the national indoor archery champion in the 1970's in Detroit, MI. She was active in the sport from 1967 through 1979. Shari will be missed by her Indiana, Arizona, and Wisconsin friends and will be remembered for her beautiful smile and for wearing a brooch on her outfit each day.
Survivors include her loving husband, George Smith, of Tomahawk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Cleota; and her grandparents.
In accordance with Shari's wishes, no formal services will be held. Inurnment will take place at the New Carlisle Cemetery in New Carlisle, IN, at a later date. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
