Darby, Jean J. (Caldwell), 89, Seward passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on January 12, 2019.

Born December 26, 1929 in South Fork, the daughter of the late Charles and Nellie (Russell) Mitchell. Also preceded in death by first husband David Caldwell, Jr. and second husband James Darby; and brother John Mitchell. Survived by children Vanessa Strick and husband Harry, Johnstown; Jayme Fisher & husband Michael, New Florence; David Caldwell. Grandchildren Adrienne Geyer and husband Chris, Carnegie; David Caldwell and wife Missy, Johnstown; Stephen Shomo, New Florence; Michael Fisher, Jr., Latrobe; Ryan Fisher, Latrobe; Jennifer Gabriel and husband Justin, Acme. Step-granddaughters Dorinda Rhoades and husband Kevin, Johnstown; Tracy Faz, Johnstown. 8 great-grandchildren and one soon to be be born great-grandchild. Sister Margaret "Peg" Cruse, South Fork.

Jean was a member of O.E.S., Latrobe Chapter 221, a past Worthy Matron, also member of Westmoreland Shire No. 18 White Shrine of Jerusalem, Greensburg and P.W.H.P. She enjoyed feeding the birds, sitting on her porch, crossword puzzles, ceramics and an avid reader. A retiree of US Post Office in New Florence.

Friends received 4-8 pm Tuesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence, where service will be held 11 AM Wednesday. Pastor Sharon Hamley officiating. Interment Armagh Cemetery. O.E.S serive 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorial donation may be made to Susan G. Komen Greater Pennsylvania, 1133 South Braddock Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15218 or a charity of one's choice. Online condolences may be left at www.thestuartfuneralhomes.com
