....................................................................
NOTES FROM researcher, Duane Donaldson:

-His widow, Sarah Reeves, is on the 1840 Census in Dekalb, where her father, William Reeves , is buried (Dunwoody Primative Baptist Church). There is a William Donaldson on the Dekalb County Census in 1830, but that one may be Thomas' brother William (if one backs up two pages from this William Donaldson, a "Betsy" Donaldson and "Eli" Donaldson can be found, making one think this is the brother to Thomas. Also, recall that Thomas' brother, William, appeared before court in Dekalb to get Pension for Rev War service.

-William Donaldson (1785-1833) may not have died in 1833, for all I know, but his widow is clearly by herself in the 1840 census. He had a son, William James Donaldson , who was a big land owner in Dekalb. All WJ Donaldson's family is buried on his farm, which still exists, called the "Donaldson-Bannister Farm."

-There is probate for a William Donaldson in Jefferson County, Ga in 1833, but that WDonaldson left orphans with names that do not match the family (besides being 90 miles southeast of where the rest of the family is located on Census.) **Connection to John Donaldson of Richland

-It could very well be that William Donaldson died in Abbeville, and Sarah moved to be close to her father and sons.

-Thomas' brother, William, also had a son named William.
