Mary A. Fletcher, 90, of Sedalia, MO, formerly of Marshall, died Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Fair View Nursing Home in Sedalia.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to family choice and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com
Born January 7, 1933, in Sweet Springs, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Hunter Sr. and Florene English Hunter. On October 3, 1963, she married Eugene P. Fletcher who preceded her in death on January 6, 1990. Mary lived in Saline County most of her life and retired as a nurse's aide at Marshall Habilitation Center. Mary was always on the go and after her "retirement" she then worked as an aide with Four Season's Home Health in Sedalia until she retired again, at 88. She was a longtime member of Olivet Free Will Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, worked with the kids, and helped in any way she could. After Olivet closed, she moved her membership to Calvary Baptist Church in Sedalia.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Meyer (Dave) of Sedalia and Jeana Killman (Sam) of Carthage; two stepchildren, Everett Fletcher of South Carolina and Laura Lee McCutcheon of Moberly; five grandchildren: Kevin Walker, Michelle Cooper (Terry), Crystal Weller (Ted), Samuel Killman and Benjamin Killman; eight great-grandchildren: Chelssie Walker, Austin Pratt, Kendell Potts, Raigan Cooper, Ashton Walker, Drew Cooper, Allie Offineer and Ireland Weller; two great-great-grandchildren, Greyson Wilcox and Briley Potts; two brothers, Bobby Hunter (Liz) of Longwood and Roy Hunter (Susan) of Marshall; two sisters, Irene Viebrock (Wayne) of Sedalia and Donna Watson of Centralia; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husband; one daughter, Carol Embry; a great-great grandson, Chandler Cooper; and three brothers: Clyde, James and Henry Hunter.
