A resident of Slaughter and a native of Brookhaven, Miss., she died at 8:20 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005, at her granddaughter's home. She was 85. Visiting will be at Slaughter First Baptist Church on Monday, Sept. 19, from 2 p.m. until religious service at 4 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Basil Wicker. Interment in Azalea Rest Cemetery.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Marvin Guest III, Slaughter, and Tina Guest White and Michael L. Guest, both of Zachary; five great-grandchildren, Rachel R. White, Jessica L. White and Danny D. White, all of Zachary, Airman E-3 Marvin Guest IV, currently serving in the U.S. Navy, and Hunter Guest, Slaughter; and a daughter-in-law, Bobbie T. Guest, Zachary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.J. Marvin Guest; and son, Marvin Guest Jr.
She was a member of Slaughter First Baptist Church. Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, is in charge of arrangements.
