She was born in Sterling, Colorado, and raised by her grandparents on their homestead. She went to high school in Loveland. Betty lived in Sterling, Loveland, Pueblo, Cañon City, Greeley, and Bolivar, Missouri. Betty worked as a teacher of accordion lessons for the Young Musicians of America in Pueblo, Colorado in the 1960's. She also worked as a nurse aid at the Colorado Mental Health Institute in Pueblo and a correctional officer at Territorial Correctional Facility in Canon City. Betty volunteered at several nursing homes. Betty was well versed with the Bible and devoted her life to Jesus Christ. Betty enjoyed teaching others about the word of God. Betty resided at Butterfield Residential Care Center in Missouri. She had many close friends with her and engaged in residential activities up until her passing. Betty was fond of music, jokes, dancing, word games, animals, car rides, the mountains, swimming, and reading.

(Dee) Ashby of Sterling, CO; her parents Erma Iola (Ashby) Curtis of Sterling and Elda Doyle Jones of Spokane, WA; her daughter Tammy Kay (Snow) Jenkins of Littleton and Isla Mujeres, Mexico; her son Bryan "BJ" Snow of Topeka, Kansas; her grandchild Jerrod Snow (Walter).
She is survived by her sons Walter and Bradley Snow; half-brother Ed Curtis; grandchildren Ryan Brown, Tanya Romine, Kassie McGilton, Heather Friend, Lauren Aiello, and Kelsey Titmus.
