moved here in 1880 from Tennessee. An attorney and agent for the New York Life Insurance Company, he was the county treasurer for 16 years and also served as the chairman of the Board of Public Instructions.
His was one of the large homes built on the north shore of Lake Lucerne, constructed in 1884 with a tall tower. He erected the Knox Block on E Pine Street, the second business block in Orlando, and bought the 1888 Hudnall Building located at 20-28 S Orange Avenue
Married first Mary Watson, second Opal Rattle.
Father to William Watson, stepfather to Ainsworth W McKenzie
Brother to George Stublefield, and Emma Knox Bacon
Son of William Washington.
