Ernest was living in Guthrie, Logan County, Oklahoma at the time he registered for the draft in 1918. He was working for the railroad so that is probably how he ended up in Water Valley.

He was born in Mississippi. Some of his relatives lived in Oklahoma. He probably went back to his hometown after the war. His mom passed away in 1911, so he may have been taking care of his dad who passed away in 1928.
