Joyce Wilson Love peacefully passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 from The Jefferson in Arlington, Virginia following a three month illness. She was just one week shy of her 87th birthday.
Joyce was born November 19, 1929 to parents James B., Sr. & Ellen (Gilkison) Love in Maysville, Kentucky. She was graduated from Maysville High School with the class of 1947 and after graduation she went to Cincinnati, Ohio to work for the Ohio Barge Line Co.
In 1950, Joyce moved to Arlington, VA working for the Department of Defense. She served as an Intelligence Analyst for the Defense Intelligence Agency for over 25 years and before retiring in 1985 she was awarded countless civilian achievements and commendations.
Joyce was a Kentucky Colonel, member of Limestone Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the Chapel in Arlington, Virginia.
She was an accomplished pianist-Joyce began playing the piano at age five and never stopped; she even took advanced piano lessons later in life. She was very proud of her roots in the Bluegrass/Limestone area of Kentucky and always anticipated autumn family gatherings with excitement.
