He was born January 10, 1937 in Caldwell County to the late Carl Moore Story, Sr. and Toye Mae Bryant.
He was also preceded by his wife, Barbara Ann Melton Story; two brothers, Stewart Story and Jerry Story; and step-son, Reggie Williams.
He was owner of Hudson Superette and Carl's Sandwich Shop for more than 40 years and a member of Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include step-daughter, Sherry (Rusty) Craig; daughter-in-law, Sally Williams; grandchildren, Shea (Ritch) Bolick, Lindsay (Kasey) Bolick, Tomorrow Williams, Kimberly Williams and Wesley Williams; six great-grandchildren.
