Sherman L. Calvert, 91, passed away on June 8, 2004 in Vista, CA. He was born on February 25, 1913 in Norman, OK.

Sherman came to California during the depression. He married Lucille Elizabeth Potter in 1936. They were married 60 years before her death in 1996. Sherman moved to Vista, CA; in 1946 and was self employed as a general contractor for 35 years. He began coming to the Colorado River in 1957 and built a vacation home on the river in Parker, AZ. Sherman moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; in 1986 and in 1998 he moved to Borrego Springs, CA; to live with his son Michael. He was a founding member and Elder of the Oro Grande Church of Christ.

He is survived by his sons Michael L. Calvert and wife Margie of Borrego Springs,CA; Roger A. Calvert and wife Sue of Lake Havasu City, AZ; grandson Michael Calvert of Oceanside, CA; granddaughter Lori Calvert and husband Tony of Fallbrook, CA; grandson Scott Calvert and wife Maria of Ventura, CA; grandson Mark Calvert of San Marcos, CA; grandson Erick Calvert of Mesa, AZ; and 8 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Monday, June 14, 2004 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Church of Christ-Oro Grande on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 10:00 AM with Minister Bill Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be make in Sherman's name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Az. 86405
