Mary Alice Mott is the daughter of Ellen and Joseph C. Mott. She married George Anson Hayden, son of Louisa Thompson and Dr. A. B. Hayden, on December 14, 1876. Their children include Albert Belemus (died of flux 1879), Anaximander Belemus, and Clyde Chapman. Following the death of her parents very shortly after the death of her little Albert in 1879, her 11-year-old sister Georgia came to live with Mary Alice, George, and their infant, A. B.
After Mary Alice's death a few years later, on June 8, 1884, when she was almost 27 years old, George Hayden married Emma Humphreys, and they had several children.
