Actor, Singer. He was a Swedish actor and singer, who was the son of famous author, artist, composer, and singer Evert Taube and noted sculptor Astri Taube. His family belonged to an untitled branch of the Baltic German noble Taube family, introduced at the Swedish House of Nobility in 1668 as noble family No. 734. His early life was understandably focused on the arts, specifically music. As a young man, he developed a keen interest in folklore and folk music whilst traveling throughout Europe. He graduated from the notable Cherry Lawn School in Darien, Connecticut in 1954. While a student at the school, Folkways Records contracted him to record an album of Swedish folk songs. He later studied acting at the Royal Dramatic Training Academy in Stockholm from 1959 to 1962. Then, in 1969, he moved to London, England, where he became very active in the British theater. His dramatic talents eventually evolved into an extensive award-winning film career of over 55 films. Some of his more remarkable titles include: "Puppet on a Chain in 1971, "The Eagle Has Landed" in 1976, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" in 2009, and numerous noteworthy Swedish productions. He also held various film credits as a composer and song performer for various movie soundtracks, as well as releasing a number of record albums though out his extensive musical career.
