Martha L. Cruea, 90, Peru, passed away at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at Miller's Merry Manor.
She was born Feb. 9, 1918 in Fairmount to John Luther and Jennie Mae Templeton Woollen. She married Wendell Salisbury in 1936, and then Walter Ray Cruea in 1947.
Martha graduated from Swayzee High School and retired from Peru Utilities. She was a member of the Peru Elks for over 45 years, the Women of the Moose, VFW Auxiliary and Elk of the Year 1998-99. In addition, she was a cousin of James Dean.
Survivors include two sons, David A. Salisbury and wife Patsy, Port Richie, Fla., and Phillip E. Cruea and wife Charlotte, Peru; two daughters, Ruth Salisbury Stroh, Fort Wayne, and Linda Salisbury Kring, Stuart, Fla.; a sister, Jean Swindell, Alexandria; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a grandson, Matt Cruea; a granddaughter, Lydia Salisbury; three brothers, Wesley, Glen and Charles Woollen; and a sister, Adeline Schaefer.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, Peru, with George Dinkle officiating.
Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
