Robert "Bob" Aby, 56, of Kewanee died at 11:26 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Royal Oaks Care Center.

Robert was born in Kewanee on March 31, 1951, the son of Donald and Eva (Ovadean) Aby.

He is survived by daughters, Nichole VanDeSampel (Brian Taylor), Tera Aby (Joey Hicks) and Heather Newcomb; one son, Bryon (Sadie) Rakestraw; seven grandchildren, Quentin, Carson, Corbin, Max, Mitchell, Claire and Dylan; one brother, Bruce (Kitty) Aby; one sister, Bonnie (Wayne) Bryan; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles "Butch" Aby.

He was an Army Veteran having served in Vietnam.

He worked as a laborer out of the Carpenters Union in Rock Island.

Burial will be in the Toulon Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded.
