While attending school she was very active in 4-H and has many ribbons to show for her hard work. She was nicknamed "Song Bird" in school as many local churches invited her to sing solos at their services.
She met and married Alfred Kuck of Smithfield at the McCook Baptist Church on April 27,1951. To this union 4 children were born, twins, Donald & Ronald, Jerry and Ann.
Marie was a stay at home Mom and Alfred's partner on the farm until the late 80's. She then worked at the Bertrand care home in the dietary department and later became the Post Mistress at the Smithfield Post Office until her retirement when she was 80 years old.
Marie loved her family and was able to spend many hours with her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. After retirement she loved playing cards, being a member of the Red Hatters and enjoyed lunches with her friends. Her real passion was gardening and
her yard was adorned with many amazing flowers. Marie also was a beautiful china painter and left many pieces for her family to enjoy. Alfred and Marie loved antiquing, going to auctions together and had a house full of antiques from that time. Each year Marie behind the wheel of her car enjoyed many trips with her sisters to places unknown.
