Joe was born to Joseph and Ella Hunt. He married Loraine Taylor with whom he had many happy years with. He worked as a fireman after his service in WWII and also was an electrician in Corvallis before starting his own business in 1961 Joe Hunt Electric. Years later he married Paula Stenberg with whom he is buried at Oak Lawn. His mother is also buried here.
